A report met with some skepticism found that excess fat might have
once revved up immune systems, providing a now-outdated survival
tool.

Better treatment in order to combat tuberculosis
According to data published by some experts, more than nine out of
ten cases of tuberculosis, which kills 1.8 million people each
year, could be averted by 2050 with better testing, drugs and
vaccines. Lesotho Health Minister Mphu Ramatlapeng at discussion in
Geneva, where the report was unveiled at the World Health
Organisation (WHO) mentioned that [...] Related posts:Lung

Yes, there really are people who don't accept the germ theory of disease
The longer I'm in this whole skepticism thing, the more I realize
that no form of science is immune to woo. For example, even though
I lament just how many people do not accept evolution, for example,
I can somewhat understand it. Although the basics of the science
and evidence supporting the theory of evolution as the central
organizing principle of all biology, much of the evidence is not
readily apparent to those who don't make it a calling to study
biology, evolution, and speciation. It's not like, for example,
gravity, which everyone experiences and of which everyone has a
"gut level" understanding. So, not unexpectedly, when the theory of
evolution conflicts with a person's religious beliefs, for most
people it's very easy to discount the massive quantities of
evidence that undergird...
Normal Weight Obesity: Are You at Risk?
As excess body weight is such a common condition, a simple, easily
obtainable measure of body
“fatness†is necessary to quickly
assess whether an individual is overweight. As such, the Body Mass
Index (BMI) is widely accepted as the most appropriate measure of
body fat, with a BMI threshold of 25 kg/m2 set for overweight, and
a threshold of 30 kg/m2 set for obesity (you can calculate your own
BMI in the right hand column here). However, a recent systematic
review suggests that the use of BMI fails to identify half of
individuals who have an excess of body fat. This has led to the
coining of a new term, called Normal Weight Obesity or NWO. This
refers to individuals who fall into the normal weight zone for BMI
(18.5-25), but who have an excess percentage of body fat. NWO
individuals h...

Two UK examiners where interested why men are the weaker sex where

greater survival benefit than building resistance to [...] Related
